Rest is Power. Rest is Revolution

Dear Friends,

We have important news to share with you! We are excited to announce that Diane Ortiz, our dedicated founder and CEO of Youth Alliance, is being recognized for her decades of leadership with a four-month sabbatical supported by the Latino Community Foundation (LCF) program "Rest is Power. Rest is Revolution."

Diane will take this time to rejuvenate and reflect, marking her first substantial break from YA during her incredible 25-year tenure. Diane’s sabbatical is scheduled to start on Monday, June 24th, and she will return on Monday, October 28th.

The outstanding team we have built at Youth Alliance will ensure that the important work we are leading continues with little interruption. Diane will be fully offline during her sabbatical.

During her absence, Eduardo Navarro, Senior Director of Development; René Casas, Deputy Director of Programs, and Mariam Alao, Deputy Director of Administration, will lead the organization.

Additionally, we're delighted to share that Ray Rodriguez will transition to serve as Chair of the Board with Elvira Robinson Zaragoza as Vice Chair and Maria Cid as Chair of Development who will support the organization during this pivotal time. YA would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Jonathan Gonzalez for his 8+ years as Chair of the Board.

Our team will connect you to a staff member who can answer your questions or needs while Diane is away. Please contact us at the office at 831.636.2853.

We are grateful to the Latino Community Foundation for their forward-thinking approach to the long-term sustainability of Latinx leaders. Our community's unwavering support remains essential as we continue to engage and grow youth and parent leadership to advocate for transformative change locally and across the region.

Thank you for standing with us as we embark on this rest, reflection, and growth journey.

In community,

Youth Alliance
